Alice Scherer (alice@europa.com) would like to find some sort of written material that deals specifically with how various fibers native to particular areas are turned into thread suitable for use in the making of beadwork. These fibers include, but are not limited to coconut, fig, and baobob. Cotton, silk and wool fibers and their transformation into thread are extensively covered in the world press. It is not so easy to track down information regarding these other fibers more specific to their geographic areas. It is my hope that someone out there will be familiar with some appropriate texts with which I may begin my research.
